Approximately one year ago, Google introduced several new search features, including the option to easily delete the last 15 minutes of your search history. While this feature quickly arrived on iOS, it took a while to implement on Android. However, it is now available, making it easier to remove compromising search requests.
There are various reasons why you might want to delete the last 15 minutes of your search history. One reason could be concerns about compromising information being visible to authorities or individuals who can access your search history. Additionally, you may wish to remove irrelevant searches that could affect your history.
To delete the last 15 minutes of your search history on Android, follow these steps:
- Open your Google app
- Tap your profile picture in the top right corner
- Select "Delete last 15 minutes"
By following these steps, all search requests and visited pages from the past 15 minutes will be deleted. It is recommended to check that everything you intended to delete has been removed by clearing your history in the usual manner.
Although this feature has been implemented for iOS and Android, it has not yet been introduced for desktops. This includes Google Chrome and the web version of the user profile on google.com. It is possible that Google will provide an update when this quick deletion feature becomes available on desktop platforms. Currently, it is not truly cross-platform.
If your Android device has not received the update, you can manually update your Google app or wait for the automatic update. The rollout of the update should not take an extended period once it has begun.
