The recent update of Telegram showcases its capabilities beyond a standard messenger. The update includes a more advanced download manager, live streaming capabilities, and new file management options. These additions make Telegram a more versatile social media platform for users.
To cater to the increasing importance of real-time news, Telegram now allows users to stream live videos. Instead of creating its own streaming tools, Telegram has made it compatible with OBS Studio, XSplit Broadcaster, and other popular stream management tools. Telegram now serves as not just a news source but also a TV platform for users.
One of the new features is a download manager that displays ongoing downloads as a circular icon in the search bar, similar to Microsoft Edge. Users can pause, resume, and control download priority by tapping this icon. This addition may be seen as a response to recent content licensing sanctions against Russia, emphasizing the need for piracy tools.
Users who frequently send multiple files will benefit from the updated attachment menu, allowing easy rearrangement of photos and videos when sending in bulk. Additionally, the menu reintroduces the camera tool and provides quick access to recently received or sent files, a highly useful new feature.
Android users now have semi-transparent headers, enabling them to see shades of photos and text through them, adding a visual appeal. On the other hand, iOS users have had this feature since July 2021.
Which of these new features do you find the most useful? Have you tried live streaming? Do you frequently download large files on Telegram? Share your thoughts in the comments!
