Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has been rated for PS4 and Xbox One, hinting at an imminent release date announcement. The game appears to be heading to last-gen consoles sooner than expected.
According to VGC, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has received an official rating in Brazil for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which may indicate that Respawn Entertainment is preparing to announce its release date soon.
Last year, EA revealed that the Star Wars action-adventure game would eventually arrive on PS4 and Xbox One due to strong community interest.
During a Q1 2024 earnings call, EA's CEO Andrew Wilson described Star Wars Jedi: Survivor as blockbuster entertainment deeply rooted in a timeless, culture-defining intellectual property. This year, the Star Wars universe was lit up by an electrifying event as the Respawn team triumphantly unleashed a breakthrough title that received both critical praise and commercial triumph. This game commanded the attention of millions of player interactions, solidifying its peak status.
Wilson further emphasized that due to the legendary strength of the franchise and community demand, the development team is dedicated to bringing this Jedi experience to PS4 and Xbox One. Over the coming year, they plan to leverage community passion and capitalize on key Star Wars franchise moments to maintain engagement for this remarkable game.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor initially debuted on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in April 2023. Before departing from Respawn to establish his own AAA studio, director Stig Asmussen of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor hinted at plans for a third game to complete the trilogy.
In the following months, it was revealed that Respawn was hiring for a new game, with job postings suggesting it could be the third installment in the Star Wars Jedi series.
At the same time, enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the launch of Star Wars Outlaws, a collaborative effort of Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment. This much-anticipated game is set to hit the market on August 30 for platforms like PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
