Recently, Xbox has announced that some insiders have been given the opportunity to stream directly from the console. This feature is currently being tested. Xbox engineers have already revealed the interface of this new feature on their social media platforms, stating that it will be user-friendly. If the feature is officially released, users will have the ability to start and pause live streams directly from Xbox, adjust camera and audio settings, and change the stream name. While the last feature may not seem particularly special to be highlighted separately, it is still worth noting. In terms of privacy, Xbox will stop streaming to Twitch once the game is exited, ensuring that the gamer's home page will not be displayed.
To stream to Twitch, insider gamers must utilize the native Xbox "Capture and Share" feature. This feature includes the "Live Streaming" option, which allows users to sync with their Twitch account. Once connected, gamers can choose to "Go live now."
Currently, Twitch streaming is only available to testers within the Alpha and Alpha Skip-Ahead groups. These groups are designed to gather gamers to test out new features and updates, similar to Steam's Early Access program. The Xbox team personally selects testers for these groups, and not everyone has access. To join, individuals must complete the "Joining New Rings" survey in the Xbox Insider Hub, and may then be invited as an insider tester.
It appears that Xbox is placing a strong emphasis on streaming. The recent release of two Storage Expansion Cards for Xbox Series X/S will be beneficial for streamers looking to store large archives of their streams.
